NAVIGATORS YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL
Empowering the Next Generation of Storytellers
The Navigators Youth Film Festival is a youth-led creative initiative presented by HL Collective Incorporated (HLC), designed to provide young people with a platform to discover, develop and share their voice through film.
More than a film festival, Navigators is an opportunity for young people to build confidence, explore creativity, strengthen communication skills and tell stories that matter.
Through short film creation, storytelling and public screening opportunities, young people are encouraged to explore themes of identity, culture, community, purpose and personal experience while developing practical skills in filmmaking and creative expression.
Why Navigators?
Young people have stories worth telling.
In a world where many voices go unheard, Navigators creates a space where creativity becomes a tool for confidence, connection and positive change.
The festival aims to:
• Encourage youth voice and self-expression
• Develop communication and storytelling skills
• Build confidence and leadership through creativity
• Create pathways into film, media and creative industries
• Celebrate positive stories from young people across Western Sydney
• Strengthen connections between schools, families and communities
Theme 2026: VOICE
Every young person has a story worth telling.
Navigators 2026 invites young people to explore what it means to find, discover and share their voice through the power of film.
